Mike is a Senior Aquatic Scientist that has over 20 years of experience developing and implementing aquatic studies that range in scale from province-wide initiatives to individual lake and stream systems. These studies evaluate effects on aquatic biota across a broad spectrum of natural and anthropogenic disturbance, including water power, nuclear power, mining, pulp & paper, forestry, great lakes areas of concern, water level, flooding, and climate change. Mike specializes in aquatic community assessment and routinely applies his expertise to develop, implement, and report on environmental studies for clients. These studies include local and regional aquatic effects monitoring programs, environmental effects monitoring, baseline studies, and priority research objectives. He has worked in multiple employment sectors (academic, private, government, non-profit), which has given him a diverse insight into the many challenges, tools and solutions surrounding aquatic ecosystem issues.
